Privacy Policy
How PocketAuthor handles account, manuscript, source and product information.
Last updated: September 13, 2026
Information you provide
This may include your email and profile, onboarding answers, manuscripts, notes, sources, comments, contributor details, book metadata, support messages and content you choose to import.
Information created through use
We may process revisions, exports, production files, feature activity, device and browser details, security events, error logs and publishing-workflow records needed to operate and protect the service.
How we use information
- Provide writing, editing, production, collaboration and account features you request.
- Authenticate users, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors and maintain reliability.
- Respond to support, privacy and legal requests.
- Improve product usability using aggregated or appropriately limited information.
- Comply with law and enforce product policies.
Authentication and connected services
PocketAuthor uses Supabase authentication with Google, Facebook, LinkedIn and GitHub sign-in. Basic identity information does not grant access to your inbox, private repositories or files. Any future source connection requires a separate, clearly presented authorization.
AI-assisted features
AI features are not active unless the interface identifies them as available. If enabled, content will be sent to a disclosed or configured provider only when needed for the requested feature. We will describe applicable controls before such processing.
When information is shared
Information may be processed by infrastructure and service providers needed to operate PocketAuthor, by collaborators you authorize, or by publishing providers when you initiate a workflow. We may also disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect rights and safety. We do not sell private manuscripts.
Retention, export and deletion
Retention depends on account status, feature operation, backup cycles and legal obligations. You may request export or deletion through available account controls. Some security, transaction, rights or backup records may be retained for a limited period when necessary.

Security
We use access controls, authenticated sessions, database row-level policies and scoped credentials. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can manage local browser data, connected services, public sharing, exports and deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, or receive a portable copy.
Children
PocketAuthor is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Higher minimum ages may apply by location.
International processing
Service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, appropriate transfer mechanisms and contractual protections will be used.
Questions and requests
Contact [email protected] for legal questions or [email protected] for privacy requests. We may verify your identity before acting on an account or data request.
