Writing grants for writers in United States

Check the location requirements first

A funder’s country is not always the same as the countries it accepts applicants from. Check residence, citizenship, language and project-location rules before preparing an application.

Build a useful shortlist

1. Choose support that fits your project: a writing grant, residency, translation award or publishing opportunity.
2. Read the current round on the official funder website. Confirm dates, fees and required materials.
3. Prepare a short project description, author bio, writing sample and budget when requested.

The public preview shows a limited selection. A missing match does not mean there are no opportunities in United States. Browse the grants directory and check eligibility with each funder.
